This past weekend the International Drone Racing Association (IDRA) held an open qualifying event in Burbank, California. This qualifying event was for the World Drone Prix to be held in Dubai on March 11 and 12th. This event allows each pilot time on the lighted racecourse to complete as many laps as they can within the set amount of time. The entire race was videotaped from the camera on the racing quad and that along with a pre-taped interview of the pilot will be submitted to the World Organization for Racing Drones. This organization, along with the Aerial Grand Prix will examine the videotape they receive from pilots around the world. By examining the interview and the flight performance from the videos they will select the top group of people to compete in the World Drone Prix in March.
